Children explore new "In Our Hands" curriculum

Updated: Jul 27, 2022

Children's Religious Education is a core program at UUCFL and takes place every Sunday morning at 11:00am.

In Our Hands

In Our Hands is a product of our history of commitment to peace and justice over the centuries, as exemplified by Unitarian Universalist heroines and heros, including members of our own congregations and families; and our understanding of the world's religions, all of which teach a version of "the golden rule."

The children explore their own knowing, feeling and imagining about issues of peace and justice. They explore various concepts of peace and justice and how to promote these within themselves.  They explore the nature of conflict and creative conflict resolution. Finally, they consider what it means to treat the earth peacefully and fairly.

I've taught this class for adults. Parents should find much to talk about with their kids who participate. If UUism is about making the world a better place together, this class is the short course in how to do that. If you have a passion for justice, peace, and the good earth, I'm sure Susan D-F would like to have you help in a class or two.
