Broward Coalition for the Homeless
At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Lauderdale

This summer, our Congregation is taking in a homeless family from Monday, through Friday, March 24-28. The family will be a woman with children. We will greet them at 3:45 pm, serve them dinner, make them bag lunches for the day, entertain them, put them up for the night, serve them breakfast, and send them on their way each morning. They will shower and bath at the homeless center, but otherwise, they are our guests.

None of the host churches are allowed to proselytize their guests. This family will make the rounds of area congregations as they rebuild their lives. Such families are typically rendered homeless by divorce or job loss. We have been asked to be the safety net for one such family.
