Thinking of becoming a member of the church?
We recommend attending the following classes to find out more about Unitarian
Universalism and our church so you can make an informed decision. There are two
unique classes - each with two opportunities to attend. Please attend one of
each.
New Members Ceremony during service followed by Welcome Pot Luck Luncheon

Attend the Unitarian Universalist Faith class.
Rev. Gail Tapscott
Three times each year, Rev. Gail Tapscott leads this two-hour class
on a Saturday morning. Attendance is required if you have never been a member of a UU church.
Coffee and a snack are provided.
Class topics include:
History of the Unitarian Universalist faith
Belief options
Worship traditions
Seven Principles
Questions and answers
Attend the Membership Orientation class.
Larry Wilkner
A week after the Unitarian Universalist Faith class, Larry Wilkner leads this scheduled two-hour class after Sunday service.
Activities include:
Meeting other prospective and existing members
Hearing religious backgrounds of and testimonials from existing members
Verifying that you are receiving weekly cUUrious cUUrier e-mails & monthly Journey newsletters
One week after the General Orientation class, the celebration begins with
Rev. Gail Tapscott officially introducing you to the congregation during the Sunday service
and ends with a potluck lunch. During the ceremony, you:
Have your photograph taken for the New Members bulletin board, member directory,
cUUrious cUUrier, & Journey
Receive a certificate of membership, lanyard for your official name card,
UUCFL directory, carnation, and subscription to UU World magazine
Your photograph appears on the New Members bulletin board. The next cUUrious cUUrier
and Journey welcome you and include the short biography that you provided on your questionnaire.
