This year at the Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute (SUUSI), we set up a seven-circuit labyrinth out behind Slusher Hall on the Virginia Polytechnic Campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. SUUSI is the second largest gathering of UUs in the world (after GA).
We used barricade tape and Christmas tree lights on loan from the MoonPath Chaper of CUUPS at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Lauderdale.
As darkness fell, the lights attracted walkers going to and from their workshops.
On into the night, SUUSI people and passers-by stopped to experience the meditative power of the labyrinth, some for the first time.
There is a world-wide UU Labyrinth Network being born out of the UU Church of Arlington, Virginia and an online Labyrinth Locator sponsored by Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.
