Getting to/from the Convention Center
See the uua.org/ga/ page on the Broward Convention Center at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Parking in the adjacent garage costs $3 for 0-1 hour, $6 for up to 5 hours, and $1 per hour there after up to the daily maximum of $15.

See the uua.org/ga/ page on Local Transportation.

Map of the Convention Center Neighborhood and WiFi locations.

Map of the Convention Route of the $1 30-seat Sun Trolley that runs every 10 minutes, Thursday to Sunday.

Map and Schedule for the Water Taxi circular route to the Convention Center Stop 7. Outbound taxis go to Bahia Mar, the Beaches, Stop 6 and beyond. Inbound taxis go to Stop 8, 15th Street Fisheries, Mangos Restaurant, and beyond. $12 buys an all-day pass with narration about expensive homes and local sites of interest.

The route of Broward County Bus 40 includes 17th Street past the Broward County Convention Center and goes out to the beaches and hotels up to Sunrise Blvd.. See schedule and map. Fares are $1.25 and $3.00 for a day pass with reduced rates for qualified seniors, youth, and disabled. Driver carries no change. There is also a 7-day pass for $11. Busses are wheel-chair accessible. Looking at all bus routes, one can see, for example, how to transfer from Bus 40 to Bus 11 and get out to the UU Church of Fort Lauderdale at 3970 NW 21 Ave.

There is a 150 vehicle public parking lot under the 17th Street Bridge. The meters charge $1/hour and take cash, Visa or MasterCard and give no change. This lot is open from 6 am until midnight.

TOW-AWAY ZONE is a sign on display all around this area. Merchants are quite territorial and associate open spaces with positive cash flow. Locals might guess better than visitors, but what one person can get away with, 400 cannot. There are 4,000 registrants at GA, and who knows what your number is?

Tow lots are located in scary neighborhoods where you would not want to go alone at 2 AM. Be forewarned!

Local wisdom has it that pedestrians cross the very busy 17th Street by passing under the 17th Street Bridge and not by braving the traffic intersections.

There is a Pedestrian Gate Entrance to Port Everglades and the Convention Center at SE 18th Avenue on the south side of the 17th Street Bridge off Grande Drive one block beyond Eisenhower Blvd.
