We UUs, (Unitarian Universalists) are very fond of creating acronyms and
jargon.
Here is a list to help you through our alphabet soup:
- AIW - Actions of Immediate Witness, events of immediate political
concern to this annual assembly.
- APF - Annual Program Fund of the UUA.
- BGLT - Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender.
- BOT - The UUA Board of Trustees.
- CLF - The Church
of the Larger Fellowship.
- Cluster - Any of several geographic subdivisions of a UUA District.
- COL - Circle of Light Christian Group at the River of Grass UU Congregation
- CON - a Teen Conference held by YRUU
- CSAI - Congregational Study/Action Issues which may later be voted upon as a UUA Statement of Conscience or SOC.
- CSW - Commission on Social Witness shepherds CSAI through our legislative process.
- CU2C2 - Council
of Unitarian Universalist Camps & Conferences.
- CUUPS - Covenant of Unitarian Universalist
Pagans.
- DFD - Director of Faith Development, new name for DRE.
- District - Any one of 20 geographic subdivisions of the UUA.
- DR - District Representative, appointed leader of a UUA
District.
- DRE - Director of Religious Education
- GA - General Assembly, annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists.
- GLBT - Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender.
- GRID - An event is "On the Grid" when you must show
your GA Registration to get in.
- HUUPLA - Hard Core Unitarian Universalist Peoples Large Assembly, a gathering to keep the
Youth Caucus and their sponsors updated on what's unfolding at GA.
- OWL - Our Whole Lives, a life-span sexuality curriculum created by the UUA and
United Church of Christ
or UCC..
- PC - Planning Committee that prepares the agenda for each GA.
- PC - Political Correctness, the right thing to say as of this moment.

Plenary - Complete in all respects.
- RE - Religious Education, for children, teens and adults.
- ROG - River of Grass Unitarian Congregation located in the western half of this county.
- SLT - Service of the Living
Tradition, held Thursday at 8 PM. Don't miss it.
- SOC - Statement of Conscience, voted on by the delegates at this
assembly.
- SUUSI - The Southeast Unitarian Universalist Summer
Institute.
- SWIM - The Southeast Unitarian Universalist Winter Institute at Miami
- UUA - The Unitarian Unitarian
Association.
- UUBF - Unitarian Universalist Buddhist Fellowship
- UUCF - Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship
- UUCFL - The Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort
Lauderdale.
- UUMA - The Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association.
- UUSC - The Unitarian Universalist Service
Committee.
- YC - Youth
Caucus, the umbrella term for all youth (ages 14-20) programming that happens at General
Assembly.
- YRUU - Young
